The Family Doctor's Office was established in 1998. Dr. Rankin attended the University of Texas in Arlington before matriculating through the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine / University of North Texas Health Science Center. He graduated with a D.O. degree in 1990. He was an intern and resident at East Tennessee State University in the Family Practice Residency Program. He obtained certification by the American Board of Family Medicine in 1993, and recertified in 1999 and 2005. He is scheduled to recertify in 2015. He participates in ongoing training to maintain certification.
    Dr. Rankin precepts physician assistants from the Shenandoah University professional school. He occasionally hosts medical students and medical assistant students.
